چکیده

To investigate the impact of early HBV DNA suppression after receiving entecavir (ETV) on treatment response in hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) positive chronic (CHB) patients. A total 140 baseline DNA-matched HBeAg-positive patients ETV were enrolled. Of those 70 achieved virological at week 24 (VR24 group) and remaining failed to achieve VR24 (non-VR24 group). Factors serological outcomes analyzed. Patients with pretherapy alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels over five times upper limit normal had a higher HBeAg seroclearance rate (P = .038). The group ratio maintained viral within 96 144 weeks, respectively (53% 75%, respectively). cumulative rates breakthrough (VBT) non-VR24 0% 5.71%, 3.2% 11.83%, 17.24%, 21.84% from 48 240, every .006). In multivariate analysis, undetectable age associated VBT .02 .006, Pretherapy ALT predicted probability seroclearance. could be during therapy. Detectable older predictive factors an occurrence CHB treated ETV.

The Absence of Hepatitis C Virus Infection Among Patients with Hepatitis B virus in Mashhad, Iran

Background and Aims: Many studies have provided evidence for the role of hepatitis B and C viruses in the development of liver cancer. Although the routine treatment is available for both conditions, no definite guideline is available to treat patients dually infected with HBV and HCV. This study was performed to determine the frequency of HBV/HCV-coinfection in Mashhad, North-East of Iran. Mat...
